Sofia Ortiz is a multidisciplinary artist whose watercolors on paper examine the way in which we build and invent the idea of the natural world. Specially she seeks to demonstrate the porosity of the limits between what is natural and artificial.
Sofía represents worlds saturated with subjectivities from the point of view of other species, in order to highlight that the human experience is just one of many others. Her work starts from observation drawing. She likes detail as it is intimate, exuberance for its involving quality and the communicative and expressive possibility of the line is something that she tends to explore.
