Sebastián Salazar
Sebastián Salazar Aparicio, born in the year 2000, resides and works between Oaxaca and Mexico City. Through the use of various mediums such as installation, drawing, and sculptural objects, he examines the consequences of colonial and extractivist practices in his immediate environment.
His work is characterized by an interdisciplinary approach that includes aesthetic and historical research, the creation of fictions, recreation, and appropriation. He is interested in employing irony as a tool to explore the events that occur in the territories he inhabits.
He has participated in various competitions in the state of Oaxaca, among which stand out the XXV Children and Youth Painting Contest, of which he was the state-level winner, and the CurArte es Guelaguetza call for entries from the Secretary of Culture and Arts of Oaxaca.
